Time To Take A Break...

Ray Charles and Billy Joel
- Baby Grand

Here's a great duet with two of the best - Ray Charles and Billy Joel. The two originally got together after Billy contacted Ray (one of his idols) about naming his daughter, Alexa Ray, after him. Ray then suggested they create a song together.

When Billy Joel was writing the song, he tried to compose it in the style of Ray's hit, "Georgia on My Mind" with a blues sound. He wrote the song in a single night.

Trying to impress Ray, Billy decided to do a Ray Charles impression instead of his using his thick New York accent. When he noticed Charles was trying to imitate him, they sang together in the same style. Enjoy!

Fun Fact: In 1959, the now famous quote from Liberace, “I cried all the way to the bank” came from his response to a British tabloid that called him names and made fun of his character. In a very classy move, he sent them a telegram that read: "What you said hurt me very much. I cried all the way to the bank." (He sued them and won $22,000.)

Fun Fact: The Rolling Stones started touring again in 2011 producing their 26th album. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2012 and Mick will be 70 in July of 2013.

Video Time Out

ears ago when I was 12, my parents took me to see Liberace. He was amazing. Luckily, we were in the first row so I could see him play.

He loved to interact with his audience and guess who he came up to? Me! He pointed to one of his rings, the piano made with diamonds, and said, "See what you get when you practice?"

Here is the master at work, which he always made fun. He really enjoyed playing and it showed. I hope this inspires you to have fun while you learn...Guy

ere, something very much as I experienced, he's showing off his rings to his fans with comedian Phyllis Diller in the audience...
