She's Always A Woman is from Billy Joel's album, "The Stranger", released in 1977. The single reached #2 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart and #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the US.
This song is a ballad written about his ex-wife, Elizabeth. She managed Joel's career after he had made some bad deals and signed a contract that didn't have his best interests at heart. She played a big part in getting his career on a solid, financial footing. Elizabeth was a tough negotiator and was considered by many as being extremely "unfeminine" but to Joel, she was always a woman.
"I have played piano by
ear since I was 9 years old, however, I was only
able to play with my right hand. I never knew how
I have taken some piano classes on reading music
but that takes forever to perfect. So I decided to
take Guy's course. After the first week, I could play
songs with both hands. Guy has been a gift from
Heaven, I never thought I could play with both hands.
Guy makes chording simple and easy to learn. If you
are frustrated with trying to read music I recommend
you take his course. You will be playing beautiful
music in no time. Guy is an asset to his craft."
